In the Convert panel of the VLC video compressor, click the wrench icon next to the Profile option, come to the Profile Edition panel, and hit the Video Codec tab. Thus apart from using a lower resolution to compress video in VLC, you can also reduce other video encoding parameters like aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate and more in VLC to reduce video size. Compress Video with VLC by Changing Video Encoding ParametersĪccording to the above-mentioned formula, a raw video of a certain length, and its size was determined by the frame rate, the resolution, and the bit depth. Click Browse to select a destination folder, and hit Start to compress video with VLC. Select an output profile such as HD (720p) or SD (480p) or a smaller file size to downsize your 4K to 1080P or 720P. Again, click on Media > Convert/Save, and add the source video to the VLC video compressor. Now go to the VLC video compressor and follow the step to reduce video size in VLC. Therefore, you can compress video with VLC by downscaling video resolution. The reason for this is that a 1080p video boasts more horizontal lines and thereby contains a higher amount of information, necessitating a larger file size to accommodate it. For instance, a video with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (1080p) will generate a larger file size than one with a resolution of 1280 x 720 (720p). Higher-resolution videos will result in a more substantial file size. The resolution of a video determines the size in height and width that the video will be created in. The video file size = Time (sec) x Frames per Second (fps) x Pixels per Frame (resolution) x Bit Depth. To get a better understanding of the second and third techniques used in VLC compress video, it is essential to learn the four major factors that determine video file size: resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and coding scheme. Compress Video with VLC by Downscaling Video Resolution Click Browse to find a destination folder, and hit Start to compress video using VLC. Tip: If you fail to find the video codec you wish to use, click on the Wrench icon next to the Profile option and access the Video codec panel, where you can find more video codec formats to work with. Select ‘Video – H.265 + MP3 (MP4)’ or ‘Video – H.264 + MP3 (MP4)’ as your output profile. Tap on Convert/Save again when you are done. Click the Media > Convert/Save, and click Add to load the video files that you wish to compress in VLC. Thus you can compress video with VLC by converting it to another video codec with higher compression efficiency.įree download the VLC video compressor and follow the step to reduce video size in VLC. Generally, the codec with a higher compression efficiency makes a smaller video size, and some of the video codecs equipped with such characteristics include H.265/HEVC, H.264/AVC, VP9, VP8, or AV1 (note here the VP9 and HEVC are capable of compressing the video size by 50% while still achieving the same high quality as H.264 and VP8). The first technique in VLC compress video is converting video codec format. The correct marine battery with the correct protection will ensure that your boat runs efficiently. This is where the use of modern marine batteries comes into play. It is important to do your research before purchasing a battery and your choice of battery will depend on the size of your boat, the amount of power required, and your budget. There are several marine battery variants on the market, each with its own set of advantages. This makes them perfect batteries for running onboard electrical systems including lights, radios, and navigational tools. These batteries are designed and built to withstand rough environmental conditions such as high temperatures, exposure to water and salt, and many other corrosive conditions.įurthermore, deep-cycle marine batteries are often made to deliver a consistent level of power over an extended period rather than a burst of power like standard car batteries. Marine batteries are designed specifically for marine applications such as boats and other water vehicles. Additionally, we explain the relationship between voltage and charge in marine batteries. We’ve discussed everything you need to know about marine batteries and their voltage charts. Thankfully, this is a mistake you’re only likely to make once and, we hope, that with the help of this article, it’s something you can avoid entirely. Every boat owner has experienced dead batteries at some point on the open water because they can’t handle the boat's electrical load. The batteries housed in your boat are crucial and allow you to travel safely and securely when you’re out at sea or in your local lake. Many new boat owners won’t even consider the batteries in their boats and simply buy the first one they think is suitable without doing any research. Wrapping your head around a marine battery voltage chart is the easiest way to figure out your needs and what equipment is necessary to meet them. If staying afloat is the number one priority when you’re out on open waters, making sure that your vessel has power is probably number two. Seemingly contradictory is that streams or lines of white calcite increase the price per pound! Large white, or sometimes orange, calcite crystals also increase the price per pound. For examples of amethyst geode colors, please click here or or there. A colorless area may show near the base of each dark amethyst point. In most geodes though, the body has less color. In other words, the color will not "just" be in the tips of the crystal points. In an especially valuable amethyst geode, the color of a given crystal point saturates through the body of that crystal. Even colors across the whole surface are more valuable than "color zoning." This is a small-to-medium pricing factor. OK, what are other color factors? While continuing to look at the whole amethyst geode, note if the color is even, if the darkest colors spread evenly in each area (each zone). The colors and apparent darkness of amethyst geodes are exquisite, difficult to put into words. If you are drawn to three geodes, ask the seller to send you one photo of the three in the same light. Alternately, your budget buys more stone if you are happy with colors of medium purple to blue to gray. Since most of the surface is crystal, the first three pricing factors are color, color, and color! Darker, deeper amethyst geodes command much higher prices per pound. How do I value the amethyst geode (amethyst cathedral, amethyst church) as a whole? You want to learn the pricing factors and decide what is important to you. Few people choose to buy the highest quality. Why? You grade a geode for the same reasons you grade a diamond. How do you choose an amethyst geode (amethyst cathedral, amethyst church)? By using your intuition or your objective thought? In other words, you choose by answering the question, "What inspires me," OR you consider the two objective, left-brain questions and examples below.
